Dandruff is a scalp condition associated with increased growth of a type of fungus. Dandruff is usually seen in people who have an oily scalp. There are some reasons why this could increase after hair treatments. After specific treatments, the use of mild shampoos is advised. These shampoos may fail to cleanse the scalp effectively. As a result, the scalp remains oily, providing a breeding ground for the infection. Some people also tend to reduce the frequency of hair wash following treatments to prolong effects. This has a similar outcome of leaving the scalp oily for longer. There can be many causes of hair fall. Heat treatments over the scalp, especially if done regularly, also increase hair fall. Regular hair wash with a good anti-dandruff shampoo can help treat this condition.
