Dandruff is a fungal infection, usually seen when the scalp remains oily. Washing hair less frequently results in the scalp becoming oily and sticky. It is important to note that the hair ends can appear dry even when the scalp produces oil. It is recommended to wash the hair twice a week to maintain a healthy scalp. Especially when you have dandruff, it is more likely that the scalp is oily even though the hair looks dry. You should use anti-dandruff shampoos twice a week for best results. Shampoo should be applied over the scalp and not the hair length. Additionally, you can use conditioners or hair serums to reduce hair dryness. Maintaining a healthy diet is beneficial. The use of hair oils is not recommended if you have a lot of dandruff. It makes dandruff more difficult to treat and increases fungal growth.
