Can I take Allegra 120 mg twice a day?
I had one Allegra 120mg this morning for my allergy, but the symptoms came back by evening. Can I take a second dose today, or is it better to wait until the next day?

It’s generally not recommended to take Allegra (fexofenadine) 120 mg twice in one day. The 120 mg tablet is formulated to work for 24 hours, and most adults only need one dose per day for seasonal allergy relief.
Typical recommended dosing for adults is 120 mg once daily, or 180 mg once daily (the usual maximum daily dose)
Why You Shouldn’t Take Another 120 mg Today:
Since you've already taken 120 mg this morning, taking another 120 mg tonight would put you over the standard maximum of 180 mg/day. Higher doses don’t reliably improve allergy control but can increase side effects, such as:
- headache
- dizziness
- drowsiness
- dry mouth
What to Do Instead:
- Do not take another 120 mg dose today.
- Wait until your next scheduled dose tomorrow.
