Dear Reader,Ā

Let me share a few dietary tips that will help you after tooth extraction.

  1. Immediately after tooth extraction, you will be given a pressure pack and must keep your mouth closed for the next 40-60 minutes.Ā
  2. Once you remove the pack, as advised by your dentist, you may consume something cold like ice cream (if your health allows).Ā
  3. For the first 1-2 days, you may need to stick to a semi-solid and liquid diet at normal cold temperatures. But remember, this is just a temporary adjustment.Ā
  4. After this initial period, you can gradually transition back to your normal diet. Just be sure to avoid anything that's hard to chew until the extraction site has fully healed.

Options for semi-solid and liquid diets can include:Ā

  1. Milkshakes
  2. ButtermilkĀ
  3. Yogurt
  4. Soup
  5. Khichdi
  6. Daliya
  7. Halwa
  8. Boiled/baked mashed potatoes and/or sweet potatoes
  9. Mashed bananasĀ
  10. Dal riceĀ

Remember, your dentist is your best guide during this recovery period. Make sure to note down all the post-operative care instructions and follow them diligently for a smooth and comfortable recovery after tooth extraction. Take care!
